Saint Theresa Middle School (Fifth through Eighth grades)
St. Theresa School fosters an ideal environment for middle school students to gain the spiritual, intellectual, and educational growth necessary to become responsible, successful, and thoughtful participating members of our society. Academic progress is stressed in sixth through eighth grades. Students are taught a grade level California standards based curriculum by qualified teachers certified in their subject matter areas. Students gain the necessary skills and knowledge to advance their academic careers in high school and college and to become life long learners. Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities like volleyball, basketball, the academic decathlon, the geography bee, and the spelling bee. Students also receive instruction in Religion, Art, Music, Spanish, Computer Technology, and Physical Education. In physical education class, good sportsmanship is stressed and students participate in cross-country skiing classes in the winter. Students in sixth grade attend a week-long outdoor education program. Seventh graders go to San Francisco to explore Chinese immigration and environmental science concepts. Eighth graders go to Washington DC for a tour of the Capitol and other historic sites. Seventh and eighth graders also volunteer at the California Special Olympics as a part of our community action program.
